I'm wondering if anyone here has had trouble reading Zelda's novel, Save Me the Waltz. I have to read it for a class on the Jazz Age, and the first 30 or so pages were pretty tough. I'm still only 50 or so pages into it, but it seems to be getting better. Thoughts?

It's still sitting on my shelf. Did it get any better for you?

no..it's my be eye bee elle E

I've read save me the waltz like four times, but I didn't find it difficult--I think her style is unusual, but not hard...you just have to pay attention. Her prose, in my opinion, is the most luscious i've ever encountered. It is my favorite novel, and I'm so pleased it was in your class, as Zelda rarely gets credit for her brilliance.

Oh, gosh, I posted that YEARS ago. I finished the book with no problem and think it's one of the best I've ever read! I do a lot of work with the Fitzgerald Museum here in Montgomery, AL and am always going on and on about how great Save Me the Waltz actually is!
